Helping our local communities in Malmö and Stockholm

, ,

In these unusual times, we at Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm want to do our best to help where we can. Some of our employees are already privately participating in initiatives, such as 3D printing protective face shields for healthcare workers, but we as studios are now stepping in to contribute together.

“During this pandemic, we recognize our responsibility and the importance to step in and contribute where possible”, CSR & Communications Specialist Karolina Lundin says.

“As part of the local community, we see great value in supporting local initiatives, and in this case, we have identified three charitable organizations and initiatives that we will support financially.”

As part of the local community, we see great value in supporting local initiatives.

Our two studios have decided to focus our collaborative efforts on three different initiatives.

In Stockholm, the financial donation will go to K-märkt, which supports in delivering food to the healthcare workers at Danderyd’s hospital. In Malmö, we’ll be helping Namu, which provides food packages to local healthcare workers, and Fryshuset, who, through their various programs, help single mothers and young homeless people.

“We’re all in this together, and with the values we share in our Malmö and Stockholm studios it is natural for us to support the community around us during these exceptional times”, explains Communications Director Linda Malmgren.

We want to make sure that we do what we can to help, especially the young and those currently working on the frontlines against the virus.

ABOUT THE INITATIVES

K-MÄRKT IN STOCKHOLM

In Stockholm, the restaurant K-märkt works to provide workers at Danderyd’s Hospital with food so they can continue their vital tasks with full energy. For every 100 SEK donated, a healthcare worker will get a full meal. Through this initiative, we support both healthcare and local restaurants, who are also going through a tough time.

NAMU IN MALMÖ

In Malmö, we’re supporting the restaurant Namu’s initiative to provide food packages to local healthcare workers. For every 50 SEK donated to the initiative, Massive and Namu themselves will match that donation. So if you donate 50 SEK, it will become 150! Namu also has a focus on care homes in the area. The packages are prepared in such a way that they are ready to eat during lunch, but that they can also be saved for dinner in the evening – saving the person receiving it from a potential stressful visit to the grocery store on the way home from work.

Namu has also worked together with Swedbank, who graciously also donated money to the initiative.

FRYSHUSET IN MALMÖ

We will be supporting two of Fryshuset in Malmö’s initiatives. BEM helps supply food to single mothers in difficult social economic situations and their children, and Värmestugan helps give young homeless people a place to get food, showers, and somewhere to sleep. By hiring young people to help cook the food, Fryshuset helps them take a step into the job market – a step that has been made even harder by the current pandemic.

All these initiatives are in clear alignment with Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm’s values, and we are proud to actively support them in their work.

“For us, it’s important to think about everyone, but in these times especially those working with healthcare and the young that don’t always know where to turn to. Together, we want to help to create safety and stability for them,” says Linda Malmgren.
