INSPIRING A NEW GENERATION OF DEVELOPERS

In our continuous work to share knowledge and inspire a new generation of developers, some Massive colleagues recently shared their stories with local high schoolers at Sundsgymnasiet. Read more about the initiative in this article.

At Massive, we believe that everyone – regardless of gender and background – should feel encouraged and inspired to join the games industry. We strive to continuously work with schools and youth organizations to share our knowledge and inspire a new generation of developers, and most recently, we spoke to students at the local high school Sundsgymnasiet.

Matilda Westerdahl, Junior Live Coordinator at Massive Entertainment

Over a digital link and in front of enthusiastic third-year students from the technical program at Sundsgymnasiet, Matilda Westerdahl (Junior Live Coordinator), Janne Lundqvist (Production Manager) and Alice Rendell (Senior Narrative Designer) explained what their roles entail and told their stories of how they ended up at Massive.

“I hope that I was able to show the students why I believe in the potential of games as a force for good, especially in regard to storytelling and narrative design,” says Alice.

Through their presentations, Matilda, Janne, and Alice showed that despite coming from different backgrounds, with different educations and interests, their passion for video games eventually brought them to Massive Entertainment. And as a bonus, they also shared some of their top tips on how to get into the games industry.

Our hope is that by sharing our stories, we can inspire young people in pursuing their dream careers.
